Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information Penny collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.
Who we are
"Penny" (ask-penny.co.uk) is a finance introducer: we explain your options in plain English and, with your consent, connect you to a qualified, whole-of-market adviser. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, contact us at hello@ask-penny.co.uk.
What we collect
- Information you give us. When you use our enquiry form or chat, this can include your name, contact details (email and/or phone), and details about what you're looking for — for example the type of finance, rough amounts, and timing.
- Messages you send. If you use the Ask Penny chat, we process the messages you type so we can respond and improve the service.
- Information collected automatically. With your consent, we use cookies and similar technology to understand how the site is used (for example pages visited and general device/browser information). See our cookie policy.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and, where you've asked us to, introduce you to a qualified adviser who can help.
- To operate, secure, measure and improve the website and the Ask Penny service.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
Our legal bases
Under UK GDPR we rely on: your consent (for example to pass your details to an adviser, and for analytics cookies); our legitimate interests in running and improving the site; and, where relevant, taking steps at your request before any introduction. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who we share it with
- The adviser you ask to be introduced to — we pass your enquiry details so they can contact and help you. We only do this when you've asked us to.
- Trusted service providers who help us run the site (for example hosting and analytics), under appropriate agreements.
- We never sell your data, and we don't share it for unrelated marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as required by law, and then delete or anonymise it.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, correct it, ask us to delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, request portability, and withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email hello@ask-penny.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows when it last changed.
